El Maguey Mexican Restauraunt

I ordered three street tacos and they gave me this tortilla with no seasoning or cilantro!!!! i paid $17 for this?!?! i’m so angry right now i’ve never experienced this in my years going to mexican restaurants, i thought they had authentic food but i guess not. will not be coming back again. update: felt sick afterwards and had nausea from this.. very disappointed

My family and I have been going here for years. The food and people are always great. My only gripe is there menu is not online. You could use an LLM to make a website in a few hours. Snap a few photos and even let the LLM write the descriptions (reviewed by staff for accuracy). Sorry to sound like an LLM advertisement but it really is easy for non-technical people to put stuff on the web now.

This location I find is much better than the other one I tried. The price is a bit more than my usual Mexican place but they do have some deals. I got the chicken quesadilla and the chile relleno, also tried the margarita. The flavour was good and portion size is decent. I'd try their other dishes next time. Food didn't take too long after placing the order and there's plenty of seating inside.

The evening manager insisted I pay for an item I didn't order on 12/30/25. He was absolutely HORRIBLE!! After I told him several times that I absolutely did not order that item, he continued to argue with me saying that I did and that he needed to watch the camera video to confirm it. I said that was fine and that I would wait. Well, he didn't want to wait for that. I told him that I have gone to El Maguey with my family for many, many years and he said we could just go to somewhere else. He obviously does not care at all that we have patronized the restaurant and is not vested in it. I truly never write complaints on restaurants (or anything), this is the first time.

I went to dinner for my birthday. Nobody took us to our seats for 5+ minutes. Nobody took our order for well over 15 minutes. It wasn't packed, I will not be back unfortunately.
