CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Rarely feel compelled to write negative reviews because let’s face it, who doesn’t have grumpy days at work, but the staff here are so consistently rude it’s actually wild. What’s going on? Do they simply resent being an Evri parcel shop? Because whether dropping off or picking up a parcel, I can guarantee I will be shouted at for something.
My wife called in tonight to collect 2 parcels. She was worried about it based on seeing the reviews when getting the address from Google but the two men in the shop were absolutely lovely - she even apparently got an impromptu laugh and hug from the one that gave her the parcel when she joked that she was glad to get it or she would have had to go to her work meeting naked the next day! Only going to the effort of putting up a review as there are so many negative ones and this was absolutely not her experience.
The Gujarati staff (not a reflection on all decent normal Gujaratis) there are insane and rude to an almost laughable level - they are a family of toxic people who all need serious psychiatric help. Shocking they are used by Evri at all - difficult to trust them with sending any packages. With all these negative reviews perhaps they are trying to get shut down on purpose? The place is dirty, smelly, disorganised and some of the foods they sell are already expired and overpriced. Need to be careful. This man below screamed at me like some lunatic for placing the package I was sending in the wrong box. I think I’d go back for a laugh - it’s actually quite amusing.
The most hilariously shocking experience I’ve had at a parcel pick up point / corner shop. And I’ve been to a few god awful places in the age of internet shopping. Went to pick up a parcel, the man behind the counter said no pick-ups or drop-offs while the delivery driver is at the store. Fair enough. I decided to wait. I was told I wasn’t allowed to wait in the shop, with a rude dismissive tone. So I wait outside and as soon as the driver leaves I go in and ask if I can pick up my parcel now. This is not an exaggeration, the man stared at me in silence then rolled his eyes. Then said something to the other staff who then helped me. Prior to this I had been to the shop on a Sunday to pick up the same parcel. A man and a woman in the shop who had such terrible attitudes on them, told me they didn’t deal with parcels on Sundays, and the tone and lack of customer service suggested that they wanted me to leave immediately. Who runs their business like this in 2023. First time using this place and I won’t be going there again for any kind of business, parcel related or otherwise. “D’Wine” it truly is not.
I went in an hour before my package was delivered as I wasn't aware if it was delivered or not. The old man helped and he was kind enough to let me know that it hadn't arrived. Today I went in and he rolls his eyes and sighs the second I tell him Im here to pickup a package. He lazily tells me to talk to his friend. His friend has a thick accent and I cannot understand a word he is saying. I manage to understand that he wants proof of ID and I show him my valid university ID and my passport on my phone and apparently it's not valid even though there is no law that states that using these as ID and a photo of your passport is illegal or invalid. A week before I had bought a Juul from this same shop using the photo of my ID and using my university card. I'm not sure why it varies from person to person. I even showed him the confirmation email. He began to lecture me in very broken English and thick accent "This is last time! I need proof of Physical card." I agree with him and I apologise. I have no time to get home and get a physical card so I try to tell him that there is another package coming today and I will be back soon to pick it up during a break in my Uni lecture so I won't be able to have a physical ID and he starts to shush me. It was unbelievable rude for him to shush a customer. It makes me wonder if it's because I am a small young woman and I'm quite short. Whatever it was, he has no right to shush me and put his fingers to his lips and ignore what I am saying. I have anxiety and IBS and it affects me quite badly. I am in the middle of my lecture and I am really afraid to go and pick it up and be treated horribly once again. But when I do go pick it up I can guarantee you I will not be back to even buy a snack! Let alone pick up another package. So rude. They have no right to shush a customer. Shame. I really thought I had a positive experience the other day and was ready to leave a good review. Apparently not. They're old people that seem like they don't even have the bother to exist. Total shame.
