Nice little historic park that could be improved by having the walking path extend all the way around the pond. Revolutionary War encampment site but no placard next to the cabin stating who stayed there. Note to town... there is what appears to be an oil slick on one of the paths, the oil is drifting down the hill into the pond. Perhaps it's some kind of oil tank leak. It ought to be investigated and amended. Otherwise, a beautiful, peaceful spot.
Update! There has been increased maintenance around the walking paths. I love enjoying our neighborhood park and ponds!! It's usually a quiet place to hang out or take kids to play. Watch out, though -- poison ivy abounds in the "natural" shoreline of the ponds.
Nice view of pond and ducks swimming
It's a good park it's pretty clean pretty, a great place to go fishing. I've caught small mouth bass there before. they do stock it. During the day it seems pretty safe they could fix up the baseball fields and make it better. they have a path, But going all the way around the park leads you out into a busy street. If if you walk on the grass on the other side of the park towards the busy street it's usually Very wet. It could be cleaned up a little bit sometimes, I sometimes I see used needles but I don't ever see people doing anything in the park so it must be happening at night.. It needs a little more love but it's pretty decent I feel safe. Been there many times with my kids I never had an issue.
The park is nice, it just does not have a ton to it. It has a small playground for kids which usually isn't crowded. The lake is nice but you can't walk the whole way around, which is kind of annoying. You can fish here but don't expect to catch much. If you need bait the liquor store right across the street sells night crawlers.
