What a groovy little spot! We stopped in after a ride at the ranch and enjoyed ourselves here. A lot of really kooky cool eye candy on the walls and everywhere. Cozy and small. Outdoor patio if it’s not too cold. Heidi and Chuck are the greatest! Very friendly and helpful and made our visit extra special. BJ’s has been around so long I find that fabulous! I started with a glass of red and moved onto a rolling rock and they’ve got very decent prices. I had the Rueben sandwich and the sauce on. It was just lovely! It was cooked nicely and came out very hot which was great! My only complaint is there wasn’t nearly enough meat in it. I tasted mostly bread but with a little more meat that would’ve been perfection. The coleslaw has a nice twist instead of mayo. They use balsamic vinegar! Tart but lovely! Will definitely be back!
This place gets 1 star only due to the kindness of the server and her patience. The place has been around forever so I don't expect it to look new what I do expect though is it to be clean. It's not remotely clean, it's less clean than a hotel room where 10 drunk teenagers stayed for 30 days without ever cleaning. The benches, sticky, like my hand stuck to them, the bathroom, the door was the first indication and it was insanely sticky as if it hadn't been wiped down in a year, not a figure of speech. The bathroom looks like a set from an episode of SVU where they found a body. Standing water in the bathroom, bathroom floor cracked all the way though, zero paper towels and if you walk out the bathroom don't look into the kitchen to the right, it's the stuff of nightmares. Now to food, half our order was wrong, the server though was fantastic and was quick to fix / help with everything. She was kind, great with kids, super pleasant and is the best thing here. Food quality was bad, really really bad. Some of my favorite places are small, local BBQ places (like manny or dons in Yucca or 29). The food was caked in oil / butter, meat was sparse and incredibly fatty, potato salad was runny, like tip the container over and it just ran out runny. Avoid, seriously, go anywhere else. Unfortunate as I was hoping this place would be a gem but after digging it was just a dirt clod.
Great atmosphere ???? Cook was very nice, friendly and made us feel welcomed. The girl that waited on us was just as pleasant ???? I highly recommend this place.
Used to come here as a kid for $1 pancakes. While they no longer have that, food is good and very well priced. Got the Pastrami dip and it was super cheesy! Wife got the garden melt, which she enjoyed. I got the coleslaw as my side which is different as its made with balsamic instead of mayo. Very cool. The owner Chuck and his staff were very nice, and service was top notch and quick.
Really great food. I highly recommend the veggie sandwich. It was so great with the vinegar on it and tasted really clean and fresh. They accept to-go orders too if you want to grab some food then head to the lake. ????
