BBQ Purdy

Being a native Floridian I have had BBQ all over the state from the Panhandle to the Keys and this is by far one of the top best. As said by other patrons the building leaves a lot to be desired but the food itself makes up for it hands down. The gentleman who takes the orders is very pleasant and friendly. When he makes my order I can count on quality choice of meat but if the lady in the back complete my order it is shabby and pitiful. I hate to ask him to fix it himself if they are busy, but I will because I come from another town and I usually take it home and add my own fixings for my family's dinner. So for those of you that have a discriminating taste for really good BBQ try Purdy's you will really enjoy it.

The portion size was enough for TWO people! The price was ridiculously cheap compared to the portion size. I had the chicken platter with baked beans and mac and cheese, man was it delicious! The beans were a little too sweet for my taste but still good. I WILL be going back but for the ribs this time!!!

Huge amount of food for the price you pay! The BBQ sauce is fantastic. I tried to call before I arrived, but no one answered. So it was nice to see them still operating. I will most definitely come back anytime I'm in the area. It's a hole in the wall kinda place. Bars on the windows and doors. Don't let that sway your opinion until you eat their food! Waaaaaaay better than those chain 'bbq' places.

Great BBQ. this coming from a Texas man. Had a half rack and pulled pork sandwich. the ribs are full ribs, meat was a little tougher than i would have preferred, but the sauce more than makes up for it. a little pricey but better quality/portions you would get from sonnys.

Stopped by here today on my way from Daytona to Gainesville. It's a simple place, pretty much take-out only, and a window to order your food. I ordered a half-rack of ribs from the very-nice staff, and was totally blown away by the portion-size and the taste! I've eaten a lot of bbq in my day and those ribs were among the best I've ever had. The sauce they give you is some sort of hybrid between a mustard sauce and regular bbq sauce, and I would have bought a 55 gal drum of it they sold it. Hopefully they'll get a chance to expand one day, because this place is a total winner.
