Bamboo House Restaurant

This was my first time coming and oh boy it was a surprise! The inside is pretty dark so we were a bit intimated at first The owner working there is the sweetest! The food is amazing so rich of flavor and absolute authentic. I definitely recommend the Bibimbap :) I will definitely come again

Don't judge this place from the outside. The inside is also dated; but clean. The food is fantastic. At least the Korean portion of the menu. The hot and spicy soup was loaded with filling. The beef bulgogi was really good with a nice subtle sweet flavor. The bibimap was good although it did not come in a hot bowl, at least that's the way I remember it being served in Korea. Just like Korea; free kimchi and vegetables as a side if you order off the Korean menu. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely return.

My family used to own this restaurant many decades ago when it was Piney Mountain. We sold it to the Chae family, who turned it into an amazing Korean restaurant. It looks like it's even better now, but I doubt that Steve Chae is still around. I will have to visit next time I'm in C'ville. Love! Daryl

Good food, good portions, but sometimes hard to get through to on the phone. Its just a small old wife and husband business, so sometimes the orders are slow and/or they don't pick up because they are in the the kitchen. Food is always fresh tasting and good portions and easily the best Korean in Charlottesville. Probably also the best south of NoVA!

I have had dinner here many times growing up with my family. For someone who was born in korea I must say the food is amazing !!! The kimchi is always amazing, The family is the sweetest and nicest people you will ever meet. They always treat you like family here and cook with there heart !
