We stopped for lunch. We sat down and it took a bit of a wait to get our drink orders. Then another wait for our food order. It took over an hour to get food. It wasn't that busy. The food was good. But we had kids with us that got restless waiting. We had the pizza and chicken wings because they are known for them. It was good.
I ordered the fish and chips. It was a big single fish. I didn't like the taste. The side was coleslaw, it's too sweet, didn't like it either. Got a coffee with milk but it was served before I get the fish. It got cold quickly. Overall, I paid $25 and I left half of the food (I hate wasting food but I couldn't help myself).
As it claims to be the birthplace of Buffalo Wings it really lived up to the claim. We came all the way from Toronto to taste the authentic Buffalo wings. The location is really good, with a huge parking space just adjacent to the Anchor Bar. We saw some public transit outside the spot so it's well connected with public transit. The ambiance inside is spectacular. The interiors are decorated really well with all the number plates of the United States from each state . The giant screens with live games is simply a perfect fun getaway. We ordered the Authentic bone in buffalo wings with extremely high spice levels. It was spicy but not as much as we expected it to be as the spice was coming up mostly by the black pepper. The taste was good and we also ordered coke and ginger ale which was refillable at no cost. The staff was extremely friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend this place.
I like wings but not the bones and so many places think chicken tenders in sauce are boneless wings. I was happy to see this was not the case here! Boneless wings were quality chicken breast cut (somewhat irregularly, which tells me probably in house), with a light breading and cooked to perfection. They were great! Hubby said the bone in wings were even better, so it was a win all around! Hubby had the fried pickles, which he said were really good and I had the pizza logs which were only okay. The sauce was good and they were cooked properly but didn't have enough pepperoni. The entry was pure chaos (although that may have been the large party ahead of us now than the organization of the restaurant) any it took forever for our server to get to us (because of the chaos, not her fault) but once we had her attention Lynnsi was fantastic. She clearly had too many tables to keep up with but she was running her legs off trying, and always with a smile on her face. At nearly $100 for the 2 of us for lunch it was more than a little pricey so unfortunately we probably won't be back, but I'm really glad we went and had a delicious lunch!
Otherwise not bad, but the cook sucks and the French onion soup sucks too. I believe that if you can’t do it, then don’t take it... Don’t spoil people’s mood... Chicken wings are also bad, dry, too much oil, no pleasure. Thank you
