Al Markaz Groceries And Restaurant

This is a staple in the Carrollton community. I don’t know how long they’ve been there but pretty much my entire life. It used to be a hit or miss but lately (last year or so) it’s always been good. Service has improved a lot. When someone wants good Pakistani food, first place that usually comes to mind is Al-Markez. Their scan to pay system is easier than any restaurant I’ve been to. Even with all the new restaurants, we still find ourselves often visiting. That tells you something.

I have tried a few, if not all, Indo pak restaurants in the DFW area and by far this restaurant has the best food in terms of taste and quality. The ambience and atmosphere is good too. So it is definitely worth giving a try. And for me this is going to be the go to restaurant for Indian food.

Stopped by for weekday lunch with a colleague. Ordered Achari Chicken, Palak Gosht and an extra naan. They were busy and packed, order took a little while but was served hot. Both the curries tasted delicious and naan’s were soft as well! I haven’t been to this place in few years, looks like they have renovated the place.

Yet another really good food spot in Carrollton. This is now one of my new favorite spots for Indian/Pakistani food. It’s inside an Indian/Pakistani grocery store. The whole left side when you walk in is full of booths and tables so there’s plenty of seating. The beef nihari curry was delicious. The meat in the curry was so warm, juicy & tasty. Also had a really good bun kabab! Definitely order a bun kabab. It sort of looks like a hamburger (it’s a sandwich originating in Pakistan but very prevalent in India as well). This is only the second spot I’ve seen so far that serves it. The gulab jamun dessert was also really good. Very friendly staff and service! First time going and I’d definitely return.

Good food, good atmosphere and good service. We went for breakfast and had halwa puri channa and nehari with naan platter. It was very good and the person kept visiting on all the tables if someone needs something else. After than we ordered chaat and that was excellent. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely recommended place.
